Being cooped up isn’t something my busy body can handle, so I’ve been working on a couple projects at my beach house.  This tray project was very inexpensive and took no time at all! Can you tell I like gold??

I found a mirror at Goodwill for $5.99 and it was the perfect replacement to a tray I had made for my coffee table that had broken.

My table, which was a “takesie” (someone left it out on the curb for trash so I took it), is narrow and it was hard to find the right tray for it so originally I made one out of a picture frame, sticky wallpaper, green paint, and leftover pulls from my cabinets.  Sadly, the glue didn’t hold up and the handles popped right off. The glue took off the paint and it’s been driving me nuts!

I really didn’t need to take the mirror apart, but taping it to protect it from paint wasn’t worth the time involved, and it was easy to disassemble…plus I have a lot of time on my hands.

After 2 coats of gold metallic spray paint and a little clear gloss to protect it from scratches, it was exactly what I wanted!
